Christchurch Chamber of Trade and Commerce

 

THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

 

The Executive Committee meets on a monthly basis to discuss matters affecting the business community in Christchurch and to co-ordinate considered responses to issues which affect Chamber members.  The Committee, as part of its focus for the future, has adopted the following Mission Statement which sets out the objectives of the Chamber.

 

MISSION STATEMENT

 

The purpose of the Christchurch Chamber of Trade and Commerce is to advance the interests of traders and businesses located in the Borough of Christchurch.

 

To this end, the Chamber will:

 

§        consult with member firms to develop agreed positions on significant local (and, where appropriate, national) issues affecting business

 

§        represent members’ views to relevant local and national bodies, both statutory and non-statutory

 

§        work with members and other bodies to promote and develop Christchurch as a thriving business centre and tourist attraction

 

§        promote mutual learning and co-operation among members

 

§        organise personal and business development activities to meet members’ identified needs

 

§        liaise actively with Christchurch Borough Council and other local bodies to identify potential issues and to develop effective strategies for dealing with them

 

§        collaborate with Dorset Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other business organisations over issues with implications beyond the Christchurch area.
