A subscription based association of local businesses that aim to support one another and represent our combined interests in the community.
Non-political, so can support or oppose any proposals that affect the business community.

Represents traders...
At regular meetings with Christchurch Borough Council on key issues which affect the business life of the Town.
At the Town Centre Forum.
On the Bournemouth International Airport Consultative Committee, the Health and Safety Committee and the Local Crime Prevention Panel.
On a variety of local community projects.

 

OBJECTIVES FOR 2010
 


To improve communications with businesses by the generation of an email database

To press the Council to complete the bypass subway, and to sell advertising space to local businesses and shops

To support the Council in the implementation of signs and maps for pedestrians

To continue to press for more CCTV in Highcliffe and at other risk areas

To make representations to the Council regarding improvements to the Christmas lights

To support the Church Street Festival in 2010, particularly by the improvement of publicity for the event

To make a contribution to the 2010 Food Festival

To ask the Council for extended free parking at Christmas
 


Has...
Over 100 members from all business types.
An Executive Committee with an elected President and Officers who meet monthly to review issues and discuss business development and promotional opportunities.

Organises...
A number of social functions are held where members have a chance to socialise and network together.
Business-related seminars and workshops on relevant topics for members and guests.
Support for local charities.

The Christchurch Food and Wine Festival.
The Christmas Festival.
 


 


To be involved in the re-development of 'Barrack Road' agenda - coordinate vision of retail offering there

To continue to press the Council for improvements to street cleaning, and to encourage businesses to play their part in the reduction of litter 

To continue to attempt to resolve the issue of the loading bay in Wick Lane

To continue to support Kelly’s Kitchen

To press for a freeze in shoppers car parking charges for 2011

To support Waitrose in their efforts to secure an improved parking regime, particularly a 1hour free parking zone in a town car park

To start to build a portfolio of projects applicable to a Christchurch BID for when improved economic conditions return

To better promote the Car Park Refund Scheme
